Ha, this made me laugh. It's all so true. Every bike shop i've worked in has been the same, i think they all are.

Besides doing downhill runs, whats the best training you can do to increase fitness for a 3 minute race run, i.e. intervals? Also what exercises in the gym would you reccomend for explosive power for downhill?

Try to ride within your limits when you're racing, nobody wins by crashing. The first run should put down a solid run, get a time on the board, and then if you want to go crazy in your second run then you've already got an alright time to fall back on. By the time you get to single run races (in the UK anyway) you'll have a better idea of how far you can push without falling off.

sure... that makes all the difference, the resume and saying you're motivated... a bit of a joke if you ask me, people should work their way up for through races sleeping in a tent and riding whatever they can afford, and if their talent is enough they will get a deal. Just my opinion, i wouldn't buy my way into a team.

Hmmm, it ate itself a few months after this photo (and a week before I went to the Alps) so i had some Sun Double Tracks build onto Nuke Proofs... much more sensible, but yeh, they aren't yellow. :-(
